Why Recruit, What's In It For Me?
Jamie discussed the various reasons why an advisor would want to build a team. The very obvious reason to most people is promotion to management and receive an additional 10% commission on yourself and your entire team. But what about those advisors who at this time do not have a goal of becoming a manager? There are still plenty of very good reasons to recruit that will make you more successful in whatever goals you have. Here are a few:
- FREE JEWELRY ---> lia sophia offers many incentives to earn free jewelry samples as a thank you for sharing the opportunity and recruiting new advisors. Those incentives include a $100 jewelry premium for each Qualified Advisor you personally recruit, and that $100 is tripled to $300 for each Qualified Advisor you recruit during your Excellent Beginnings period. You also receive a $750 jewelry premium for every 3 Qualified Advisors you recruit in a fiscal quarter that have collective new start sales of $7,500 or more. Why buy the jewelry samples when you can get it for free by just knowing the incentives available to you and setting your goals to go get them.
- FREE VACATIONS ---> Who doesn't want an all expense paid trip to Puerto Rico? (and if you said no, then you need to check out the photos of the resort here: http://corporate.liasophia.com/ao_puertoRico11/). To earn this trip, or any incentive trip offered by lia sophia in the future, you will have to start recruiting. New start sales are required to earn this trip, whether you want it for one person or two.
- FREE ROYAL TEA ---> Jamie, Erika and Michelle have offered a totally fun incentive to their team to treat them to a Champagne Brunch & Royal Tea along with Lisa Petersen at the Peninsula Hotel, Beverly Hills. How do you earn your pass to this event? You can get the full details here (http://liasophiavip.blogspot.com/2009/10/slide-on-down-mountain.html), but know that recruiting is of course involved.
- PLAN B --> You love your full-time job, you're busy raising your kids, you're financially comfortable and why work harder. These are a few reasons advisors have for not wanting to promote to manager. What happens if things change? Let me give you an example...about six weeks ago my employer went through restructering and asked me to take a job doing something entirely different than what I had been and wanted to be doing. The fact that I had been building my team with lia sophia and growing my business allowed me decline the position and quit my full-time job as a banker, during one of the worst times in the banking industry and during a global recession. I had the luxury of that choice because of lia sophia, and now my plan B is my plan A.
Stepping Out of Your Box
As managers we hear various reasons why people don't think they are ready to team build. Here are a few things to consider BEFORE you settle into a reason not to do it.
- I Don't Have The Extra Time --> The best part about recruiting as an advisor is that you have a manager there to do the "management" until you are ready to take on that responsibility. Of course you will want to stay in contact with your team, but we are here for training, motivation, team meetings, incentives and everything else.
- I Can't Do It --> Recruiting is a skill, and that is great news because a skill can be learned. There are many resources to help you develop your skill set, including training from the corporate office, training from Lisa, and training from us. All you have to do is ask.
- I Don't Know Enough Yet --> It is okay to not have all the answers and it is okay to say to someone "you know, I am a little new at this and I am not 100% sure about that. I will find out and get back to you by the end of the day." Your manager is also there to help and would be happy to go with you to meet any potential new start. When I first started, I arranged conference calls with the prospective advisor and my manager, Jamie. Anything I couldn't answer, she could and it was also a great way to offer my prospect a second opinion & experience with lia sophia.
- I Want To Get More Parties First --> If you want more parties, sharing the opportunity is a great way to do it! Getting people excited about what you do is a great lead into a party booking. Ask them to host a party and let you show them what you do. You want them to see how much fun it is, how great the jewelry looks in person, and hear again what a great company lia sophia is.
To Accomplish Great Things, We Must Not Only Act, But Also Dream...
Okay, so now that you have read over the benefits to you of recruiting and reasons you should overcome your own personal objections, its time to dream a little (or a lot). Write down your answers to the following questions:
- Putting aside what you think is possible to do based upon your current results or any limiting beliefs you have about your ability to achieve it, how many new advisors would you love to have in your downline in the next 90 days? Lets say by the end of Fiscal March. 1? 3? 6? 21?
- Whatever the number was, now write down the reasons WHY you really want to achieve that. Do you want more free jewelry? Do you want to promote to manager? Do you want to be the next Lisa Petersen? Or do you want that trip for two to Puerto Rico in 2011? What is it that lead you to choose that number?
- If it were up to you, what would be a great reward from your manager for meeting our recruiting goal as a team? Do you love to shop and would want a gift card? A team dinner? A spa treatment? What is that extra little perk that will help motivate you to keep your eye on the prize?
Now that you have answered those three question, email your responses to your Manager. We are going to collect all the responses, develop a team recruiting goal and offer a special incentive just for you! The prize for winning the incentive will be based upon feedback received from everyone on the team. Remember...you can soar with the eagles, or you can run with the turkeys. It's your choice.
Deadline = Please submit your answers by Friday, December 18
